There’s something kind of awesome about the tail-end of summer. People trying to cram in as much sunshine and vacation in as they can. I come from a family of educators (both sides are involved in various aspects of education) and there’s something so ingrained in my DNA about my year really starting in July/August. Seeing school supplies just does something for my soul that is indescribable.
The theme for this month as absolutely MELLOW. I am currently still OBSESSED with Ellie Goulding’s cover of “Vincent” by Don McLean. I also added some Deftones, Eva Cassidy, Kate Bush, & Alice in Chains to fuel the way back machine.
Chai, Pillow Queens, First Aid Kit, and Idles all have new stuff on the mix. I have to admit, when it comes to new stuff, I am really enjoying Taylor Swift’s new album “folklore” and that’s honestly a phrase I never thought I would say. Granted, I LOVED “1989“, LOATHED “Reputation“, and was MEH on “Lover“. This one, is really good though. Her single “mirrorball” makes an appearance on the mix, but I honestly had a hard time narrowing it down.
Well, that’s about it from me. I have some homework to get started and a possible nap to take. So me and my Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew are going to go enjoy the rest of our weekend. Stay safe, folks!
